We are looking for a Planning Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Evaluate and comment on project baseline schedules to ensure they accurately represent the project’s scope, constraints, and timelines.
– Verify that the baseline schedule aligns with the project’s contractual requirements and objectives.
– Recommend adjustments or updates to the baseline as necessary based on changes in project scope or conditions.
– Attend weekly project meetings to provide updates on the scheduling status and any potential issues.
– Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and address scheduling conflicts.
– Analyze monthly progress reports to assess project performance against the baseline schedule.
– Assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims submitted by contractors for their validity and impact on the project schedule.
– Verify the basis of the claims, including the justification for delays and the proposed extension period.
– Provide recommendations for EOT claims, including approval or negotiation of revised timelines.
– Update schedules regularly to reflect changes in project scope, progress, or external factors.
– Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure scheduling needs are met and align with project goals.
– Address scheduling issues and conflicts that arise, providing solutions and adjustments as needed.
– Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to scheduling, including schedules, progress reports, and delay analyses.
– Identify scheduling risks and potential impacts on project timelines.
– Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address scheduling risks and uncertainties.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
– A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a Planning Engineer with construction consultants, specifically on projects in UAE.
– Proven expertise in project planning and scheduling using tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
– Strong understanding of local regulations, standards, and best practices in UAE construction sectors.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
